As usual, this year too we participated in the biennial edition of the International Surgery Week (ISW 2024), held in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) between 25 and 29 August 2024. In addition to sharing important topics related to the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, we actively participated in the conference, bringing some of our most recent works. In particular, we had the privilege of presenting a study conducted on elderly patients in the session dedicated to the awarding of the best works, with the aim of improving the prevention strategy in an age group that is often overlooked due to its limitations and therapeutic contraindications. Furthermore, it is with great pride that we are pleased to announce that our president, Dr. Serena Bertozzi (in the center of the photo), obtained the second prize for best oral presentation with this presentation, awarded to her by Dr. Ines Buccimazza (South Africa) and Dr. Owen Ung (Australia). And now we are preparing for a Pink October full of initiatives and dissemination activities in the name of prevention.
Come di consueto, anche quest’anno abbiamo partecipato all’edizione biennale della Settimana Internazionale di Chirurgia (ISW 2024), tenutosi a Kuala Lumpur (Malesia) tra il 25 ed il 29 agosto 2024. Oltre alla condivisione di importanti tematiche relative alla diagnosi ed al trattamento del carcinoma mammario, abbiamo partecipato attivamente al convegno, portando alcuni dei nostri lavori più recenti. In particolare, abbiamo avuto il privilegio di esporre nella sessione dedicata alla premiazione dei migliori lavori uno studio condotto sulle pazienti anziane, con l’obiettivo di migliorare la strategia di prevenzione in una fascia di età spesso trascurata a causa delle sue limitazioni e delle sue controindicazioni terapeutiche. Inoltre, è con estremo orgoglio che abbiamo il piacere di annunciare che il nostro presidente, dott.ssa Bertozzi (al centro della foto) ha ottenuto con tale presentazione il secondo premio come miglior presentazione orale, consegnatole dalla dott.ssa Ines Buccimazza (Sud Africa) e dal dott. Owen Ung (Australia). E adesso ci prepariamo per un ottobre rosa ricco di iniziative e attività divulgative all’insegna della prevenzione.
